-Direct and coordinate activities of workers engaged in the repair, maintenance, and installation of electrical and electronic systems for machines, equipment, buildings, and utility systems. To apply expertise to difficult or unusual applications and derive new and functional solutions
Insure that all maintenance activities are performed in safe manner
-Oversees and supervises personnel working on electrical, instrumentation and control equipment, ensures conformance with applicable rules and regulations, and administers disciplinary measures when necessary. Participates in internal programs, such as communications, vacation schedules, job evaluation, employee performance reviews, wage administration, etc., as needed
-Reviews job orders to determine work priorities for E&I Work Center. Assigns and schedules technicians job assignments; ensures work is completed to specifications to ensure continuous production operations
-Serves as a technical liaison for maintenance repairs and installations which require the use of wiring, circuitry, or other electrical/electronic application to ensure safe and efficient use of systems
-Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting, analyzing, and resolving complex electrical problems
-Oversees and participates in the development and administration of PLC systems. Researches operations applications to determine system feasibility and specification and implements where appropriate. Tests new or revised systems for performance and trains users on system as necessary
-Reviews changes in available technology regarding computerized machine systems for potential implementation. Categorizes products and costs and makes recommendations for purchase and implementation
-Maintain viable records and files and prepare reports and summaries of activities. Document and maintain a preventative maintenance program for electrical systems which include MCCs, medium voltage switchgears and low voltage instrumentation controls
-Knowledge in reliability practices such as root cause analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Top 10 and standards for preventative/predicative maintenance (PM/PdM)
-Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with electrical/electronic standards
-Provides written reports to management as required
-Conducts on-the-job training where required
-Determines work methods and types of materials to be used on electrical maintenance and upgrade projects
-Insure that all personnel in the shop area remain current and proficient in their skill area. Demonstrated experience with formal training, coaching, and counseling and the documentation that comes with it
Qualifications:
-10
years experience working with industrial power, control, and instruments systems
-5
years supervisory experience required
-Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required
-Working knowledge of functions and design of industrial power distribution, electronics, instrumentation, and controls; methods development and procedures; industrial and personnel administration; Labor Relations, repair maintenance of machinery and equipment; ability to prepare, administer, and monitor departmental budgets
-Working knowledge of high temperature and corrosive environments is also required. Must have a working knowledge of distributive controls systems, programmed logic controllers, and data highway systemsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
